Photographer Scott Rinckenberger proved that timing is everything when capturing a great image while camping earlier this month.

The long-time shutterbug accidentally captured a meteor explosion while setting up a self-portrait ― and the picture is being shared around the internet quicker than a passing comet.

Photographer Scott Rinckenberger said he still can’t believe his fortune that he was able to set up the viral photo.

The lensman, who was finishing a long-term project shooting fall landscapes in the western United States, said the image saved the project.
“And, to be perfectly honest with you, toward the end of the trip, despite the thousands of images taken, and the extremely enthusiastic feedback from the world at large, I was disappointed that I hadn't captured a single transcendent image; an image Cheap Basketball Jerseys that would make me want to burn my camera, a la Jimmy Hendrix,” Rinckenberger said.
He said the logic-defying shot reminded him that in order to capture a timeless image, repetition is key.
“If you shoot enough arrows, eventually you’ll pull a Robin Hood and split the arrow that was already a bulls-eye,” he said.
